A WORD ABOUT PASSION

 

As many of you know, Enation is a band who believe that music is bigger than entertainment. We believe great music should leave us a lot like a great film does; asking questions, reflecting on our own lives and experiences, being entertained and moved, and leave us looking at the world through different eyes. It's also about exploring how to impact needed change in society. That's why we are dedicated to doing what we can, even our small part, to end Human Trafficking. We have partnered with Not For Sale, a global non-profit organization combatting Human-Trafficking, Child-Trafficking, and Sex-Trafficking around the world. We are honored to support them. 

 

 

 

We are an anthemic American rock band with a Euro/Rock flare fronted by Jonathan Jackson. Jonathan currently stars as 'Avery Barkley' on the new hit ABC drama 'Nashville'.

'The first thing people ask us if they've never heard us before is who do you sound like? Well, we like to say that it's as if U2, Radiohead, and Bob Dylan all got together for breakfast, decided to adopt a baby boy, called it Enation, and then left it to fend for itself,' drummer Richard Lee Jackson says.

 

Jonathan, lead singer and songwriter for Enation, speaks up. 'Bands like Coldplay, U2, and Pearl Jam are great examples of artists who are dedicated to their craft but who also see their music as a vehicle for emotional and social change. In short, they are bands who have inspired us to go beneath the surface, to create songs that are not just for entertainment -- but for emotional and spiritual connection, enlightenment, and social change.'

 

'It's all about having integrity as an artist,' says bassist Daniel Sweatt. 'There are a lot of bands out there who are okay dwelling on the surface of things -- which is totally fine for them, and there's some good music out there doing that. But surface is not us. That's not Enation. We're looking to go deeper, to have music that's beneath the surface.'

 

 

Our first album was released in 2004. We have been featured on many soundtracks, including 'One Tree Hill', 'General Hospital', 'Dog the Bounty Hunter', and 'Stephen King's Riding the Bullet'. We have won the Grand Prize from the international MTV sponsored independent song competition OurStage four times, have had a Top 10 iTunes Rock Single, a Top 200 iTunes Alternative album ranking, been featured on a NY Times Square billboard after winning a national competition for AOL/About.Me, and have had some radio play recently from our newest album, 'My Ancient Rebellion' for our two singles, 'The Rushing Wind' and 'Tears of Hope'. 

 

We have had an online store for about 5 years now. Recently we decided to run it all 'in-house'. It's a fun adventure!
